How a market gets listed
The point
In Practice anyone can start a market by pasting a token's mint; in Trade anyone can request one, an automatic screen checks it, and the owner signs off.
Practice: paste a mint. Any Solana token with a SOL or USDC pool we can read becomes a market while a slot is free. Its mint is checked on-chain first:
- Refused if the issuer can block, freeze or tax transfers.
- Longs only, at 2x and half the caps, while a mint or freeze authority is active.
Slots depend on our RPC budget: 14 fit, 5 in use (oracle status, 2026-10-19). A market idle for 30 minutes (no views, no positions) pauses; searching it resumes it, history kept (oracle setting, 2026-10-19).
Trade: request, screen, approve. Anyone signed in can submit a mint on the listing page (upvotes are advisory). The screen runs at once (Trade settings, 2026-10-19):
- a clean mint check
- market cap 1M to 25M USD
- 1,000 USD moves the price 2% (thinner side) across 2 pools, or 2,000 in one pool
- 15 minutes of our own price history
The owner then approves with a wallet signature. An override can waive the size rules, never the mint check. Trade holds at most 8 markets; 5 are listed (Trade listings, 2026-10-19). Listed markets never pause for inactivity.
Delisting. A crash (price below half its 5-minute average, or a pool losing half its liquidity in 60 s) makes a market close-only for 24 hours (oracle spec, 2026-10-19). After a rug or exploit: 24 hours close-only, then open positions settle at the 1-hour average before the delist, and the token waits 30 days to return (listing policy, 2026-10-19). Trade markets are removed only when nothing is open.
Numbers carry the source and date they were read; current values are on Parameters, every rule in full in the FAQ.
